To expand AMOLED markets for IT, Samsung Display held technical seminars with inviting global IT companies in Silicon Valley.

Samsung Display said on May 16 that it held the "2019 Samsung AMOLED Forum" at Samsung's U.S. corporate office building located in San Jose, Silicon Valley, on May 14~15 for two days.

Leading global IT manufacturers and companies leading the IT ecosystem attended the event, noting the excellence of AMOLED, which is expanding into the IT market following smartphones.

At the forum, Samsung Display stressed that AMOLED's characteristics such as low-consumption power, ultra-slim bezel, thin and light design and overwhelming color reproduction are optimal for laptops where portability and high-definition game content use are important.

It also presented display solutions optimized for cloud and streaming services in line with the commercialization of the 5G service, drawing attention from customers.

Samsung Display announced that AMOLED, which can implement fast response speed, high injection rate, and HDR Trueblack, will provide optimal experiences of use during 5G era.

n addition, Samsung Display drew attention from customers by introducing various next-generation products such as sensor-internal displays, unbreakable displays, holograms and light-field displays that can implement full screens.

"This forum is a very important event where Samsung Display's AMOLED technology and customers' ideas meet and create new opportunities ahead of commercialization of 5G," said Baek Ji-ho, head of Samsung Display's small and medium strategic marketing team. "Samsung Display's AMOLED will provide the best solution to its customers as a form factor that leads innovation beyond simple components."
