Ssangyong Engineering & Construction (Ssangyong E&C) has won construction projects worth a total of 420 billion won from Dubai and Equatorial Guinea.
Ssangyong E&C said on May 27 that it has recently won a solo order to build Dubai's $167 million "One Residence" and Equatorial Guinea's $198 million "Bata International Airport."
It was the first overseas order in five months after winning two projects worth 850 billion won in Singapore at the end of last year.
The Dubai 1 Residence, which is 44 stories above ground and two complexes, will be built in the Kifaf area, the most central residential area. The number 1 features an appearance that seems to be facing each other, and the 36th to 42nd floors above the ground are connected by Link Bridge. In addition to residential facilities, amenities such as swimming pools and parks will be built.
The project was ordered by Wasl, Dubai's largest real estate development company. Ssangyong E&C has been continuing strategic collaboration with Wasl in various projects since it won an order to build an "ANDAZ" hotel, a luxury hotel brand affiliated with Hyatt, in July last year.
Ssangyong E&C stressed that it has successfully won orders by defeating world-famous construction companies from overseas, including France, Italy, Spain and China, in recognition of its high quality construction capabilities in a number of projects such as Mongom eyen International Airport that it has shown at Equatorial Guinea.
"We achieved the sixth-largest performance in the industry through overseas orders worth about 1.6 trillion won last year, and we will continue our momentum this year," a Ssangyong E&C official said
