Cho Hyun-min, former senior vice president of Korean Air, has returned to the group's management line as senior vice president of Hanjin KAL and executive vice president of Jungseok Enterprise. It has been about a year and two months since she resigned over the so-called "water cup misbehavior" scandal.
According to Hanjin Group on June 10, Cho will return to her management activities as executive of Hanjin Kal and Jungseok Enterprise. Hanjin Kal is the holding company of Hanjin Group, and Jungseok Enterprise is in charge of leasing and managing real estate in the group.
"Cho is scheduled to start managing the group's companies based on harmony between family in support of the strong desire of late Chairman Cho Yang-ho," Hanjin Group said.
Cho was investigated by police and prosecutors for allegedly spraying water and throwing cups at agency employees during an ad agency meeting in March last year.
Prosecutors cleared Cho of charges of special assault and obstruction of business, and cleared her of charges of assault based on agreement with the victim.
Last month, she was questioned by police after a rear-end collision while driving. A Tesla car driven by Cho hit the back of a white Sonata sedan in front of Seoul City Hall on April 21. In the accident, the front right of Cho's car and the rear left of her opponent's car were severely damaged. Cho and her counterpart driver suffered minor injuries.
