Korea Electric Power Corp.(KEPCO) signed an MOU with PUCMM University, ESD, and J&D Electronics on June 14 to cooperate in overseas demonstration projects for the KEPCO-style energy management system (K-SEMS) at the university in Santo Domingo, Dominica.
This demonstration project is an energy efficiency demonstration project in which KEPCO will establish K-SEMS at PUCMM University and ESD, a local Korean company, in cooperation with small and medium-sized Korean companies.
First of all, if PUCMM University and ESD establish energy efficiency facilities such as LED•ESS in their own budgets, KEPCO will provide K-SEMS solutions, J&D Electronics will be responsible for supplying and constructing measurement equipment, and Vasco ICT will be responsible for implementing K-SEMS.
K-SEMS is expected to help reduce energy costs for PUCMM University and ESD as well as manage Dominican national power loads..
At the MOU signing ceremony, KEPCO Energy New Business Director Lee Joon-ho, Dominican PUCMM University vice president, ESD CEO Choi Sang-min, and J&D Electronics CEO Jang Wang-sam agreed to cooperate in local demonstration and technology cooperation.
"It is meaningful that we will be able to demonstrate our energy management system in Dominica for the first time in the world, and we hope that this demonstration will help Dominica reduce energy consumption and revitalize the energy efficiency business market," said KEPCO Director Lee.
