Samsung Electronics said on June 16 that Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong held a meeting with presidents of IT and mobile (IM) at its Suwon office on June 14.
President Ko Dong-jin of IM, President Roh Hee-chan of Management Support, and President Roh Tae-moon of Wireless Business Department announced the results of 'Global Strategy Conference of IM Sector' to Vice Chairman Lee at the meeting.
The presidents reportedly discussed ways to differentiate themselves by developing advanced leading technologies and new services that will be the driving force for new growth in the future.
Vice Chairman Lee inspected 6G mobile telecommunication, blockchain, status and outlook of next-generation artificial intelligence services after 5G and ways to cooperate with global platform companies.
He called on the presidents to "not be swayed by any change in the business environment and to carry out investment for the future without a hitch."
Lee also said, "No company can guarantee 10 years ahead now. We have to go beyond making achievements and challenge ourselves with the determination to start a new business."
On June 13, Samsung Electronics also held a management strategy meeting with management of DS (Device Solution) division, which is in charge of semiconductor and display businesses, presided over by Vice Chairman Lee.
"We are planning to arrange meetings with presidents of CE (Consumer Electronics) and other related companies sequentially." said a representative for the company.
