SK E&C has succeeded in winning a contract for Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for PDH Plant in Belgium.
SK E&C said on June 18 that it has signed a FEED contract with global chemical company INEOS to build a propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant in Antwerp petrochemical complex in Belgium.
Ahn Jae-hyun, president of SK E&C, and INEOS Olefins & Polymer North Chairman Gerd Franken attended the signing ceremony in London on June 17.
The project calls for conducting FEED of the 750,000 PDH plant a year at Antwerp petrochemical complex, 50 kilometers north of the Belgian capital Brussels.
SK E&C will carry out FEED for about 12 months, and has been selected as the preferred bidder for the main work(EPC), which will be placed in additional orders after FEED, further raising the chances of winning orders for the mega project.
"We expect that this contract will provide a cornerstone for SK to enter Western European plant markets. Starting with this PDH FEED contract, we plan to strengthen our strategic partnership with INEOS, a global top-tier chemical company," said SK E&C CEO Ahn.
