SK Telecom (CEO Park Jung-ho) announced that it will release parking service solution "T Map Parking" on June 19.
"T Map Parking" is a parking solution that combines SK Telecom's advanced ICT technology with ADT Caps' know-how in managing and securing parking lots.
The solution provides the driver with one-stop portable parking services that allow real-time parking space lookups, discounts and automatic payment.
The parking problem is very serious due to lack of information and inconsistency in demand and supply between regions, although the current rate of supply of parking lots is 127 percent compared to Seoul city's standard vehicles.
"T Map Parking" guides the driver through the information and route of the parking lot near the destination. For direct parking lots, parking spaces can also be checked in real time. Drivers also can easily use various payment-related functions, such as purchasing parking tickets, paying according to time of use, pre-settling and automatic payment.
SK Telecom plans to greatly improve the operational efficiency of its "T Map Parking" through pre-analysis and operation based on big data.
Before releasing "T Map Parking," SK Telecom used its own - Geo-vision's floating population data, - Tmap departure and arrival data and - Government, Land, Infrastructure and Transport Ministry's parking lot data to finish analyzing the demand and supply of parking in South Korea and created an environment where efficient ICT parking can be operated.
In addition, SK Telecom has established a parking operation platform that can remotely control various parking facilities across the country by preparing its own standards such as parking lot entry and departure equipment and parking guidance system.
The newly established parking operation platform is expected to provide an opportunity for the parking business to develop anew by optimizing manpower and expenses needed to operate parking lots in the future.
Jang Yoo-sung, head of SK Telecom's mobility business, explains the 5G era parking solution called 'T Map Parking'.
