The "2010 Korean Car Parts Purchasing Consultation Event" will take place at the COEX on June 8th, 2010. This event will feature 5 global car manufacturing companies that are looking to purchase car parts from Korean companies. These buyers include PSA, Jaguar Landrover, Changan Mazda, Changfeng, and WuhanZhongyu. Approximately 40 Korean companies will be present to display their car part products. September of last year marked the first time for this event. This upcoming event is expected to produce many consultations, purchases and sales.
In 2009, the French car company PSA(Peugeot Citroen) was one of the more active purchasers for Korean car parts. At this event, they will be looking for future replacement energy, electric car parts and hybrid running car parts. Through KOTRA's help, 5 of Korea's car part makers currently have an annual average sale of USD 20 million.
Another car manufacturing company present will be Jaguar Landrover, based in England. They have been a customer of Korean car parts, but this will mark the first time that they personally came to purchase. This event will mark the first time they personally came to purchase certain Korean car parts. Starting this year, it has been harder to purchase certain excellent quality parts from China, including interior lamps, crankshaft and window regulators. A diverse variety of Korean car parts will be the main focus for the buyer companies.
KOTRA's China area director, Kim Jong sup stated, "Korean car parts companies are not only aiming towards selling their products in China, but globally. They are trying to enter the car part materials market as well as the car manufacturer's global sourcing network. This event will provide a good opportunity to display their quality car part products."
