They confirm Hanmi Pharm's global competitiveness in a tour of RFID-ICT integrated smart production process
A group of pharmacy students from 13 countries, including France, Britain, the Netherlands and Canada, visited Hanmi Pharm's Paltan Smart Plant on July 9.

"I'm impressed with the Hanmi Pharm's smart pharmaceutical production process based on RFID and ICT. The global competitiveness of Hanmi Pharm, a representative pharmaceutical company in Korea, was also at its highest level," said a student of Ljubljana Pharmaceutical College in Slovenia.

A group of pharmacy students from 13 countries, including France, Britain, the Netherlands and Canada, visited Hanmi Pharm's Paltan Smart Plant on July 9.

The visit was conducted to help global pharmaceutical students understand South Korea's pharmacology research and the pharmaceutical industry as part of an exchange program for the International Pharmaceutical Students Federation, with some 20 South Korean pharmacists also joining the tour.

The federation is an organization composed of 350,000 pharmaceutical college students from some 80 countries and has a partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) for the purpose of developing public health environment and pharmacology education in the world.

The visiting group of pharmacy students from around the world toured public institutions, including university hospitals and local pharmacies under the theme of "Korea's pharmaceutical industry and institutions," and visited Hanmi Pharm's Paltan smart plant.

Hanmi Pharm trained these pharmacists in the ICT-based drug production process, logistics and delivery systems through RFID, along with the introduction of smart plant, and conducted in-depth discussions on the future direction of the pharmaceutical industry through comparison with the domestic pharmaceutical industry.

"The Paltan Smart Plant serves as a forward base for realizing global Hanmi Pharm through the production of high-quality drugs as well as cooperation with various partners," said Park Jae-hyun, executive director of Hanmi Pharm, adding, "It has provided an opportunity to inform pharmacy students around the world of Hanmi Pharm's constant challenges and passion to be a pharmaceutical powerhouse."

Hanmi Pharm's Paltan Smart Plant, with a floor area of 36,492 square meters, one basement and eight floors above the ground, was completed in 2017 and is capable of producing up to 6 billion medical pills annually, the largest in Korea.
