To lead the industry by diversifying its fuel cell business portfolio
On July 16, Doosan signed an agreement with Britain's fuel cell technology company Ceres Power to jointly develop a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) for buildings with a capacity of 5 to 20 kilowatts.  Doosan Vice Chairman Dong Hyun-soo and Ceres Power CEO Phil Caldwell shake hands after the signing ceremony.

Doosan said on July 16 that it signed an agreement with Britain's fuel cell technology company Ceres Power to jointly develop a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) for buildings with a capacity of 5 to 20 kilowatts.

Doosan Vice Chairman Dong Hyun-soo and Ceres Power CEO Phil Caldwell attended the signing ceremony in Seoul on July 15.

SOFC is a type of fuel cell, which has a higher power production efficiency than other fuel cells and a cheaper catalyst.

"We have prepared an opportunity to expand Doosan's fuel cell portfolio by joining hands with Ceres Power, which specializes in SOFC technology," said Vice Chairman Dong, adding, " Doosan will establish itself as a leading fuel cell company representing Korea through steady research & development and investment."

Doosan, which has PEMFC (polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell, below 20kW) and PAFC (phosphoric acid fuel cell, 440kW) types of fuel cell technology, is planning to review securing SOFC technology for power generation in addition to SOFC for buildings in the future.
