Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) hosted the "2019 Korea-Vietnam Smart Power Energy Exhibition" (KOSEF 2019) in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, a central country in the Korean government's new southern policy, from July 17 to 20.

In this exhibition with about 250 companies from around the world participated and some 20,000 people visited, KEPCO formed a market exploration team with 50 promising small and medium-sized companies in the power sector to explore the market for excellent power equipment and accelerate technology exchange between power companies, a KEPCO spokesman said.

KEPCO has achieved $2.1 million in export performance in the Vietnamese market by providing support for small and medium-sized enterprises in the power sector while arranging overseas sales meetings with 130 foreign companies by utilizing its global brand power and overseas networks.

In addition, through a meeting with the management of Vietnam electric power company EVN NPT, KEPCO established a network for discussion for mutual cooperation and signed an MOU with the Vietnam mechanical and electrical association to lay the foundation for continued cooperation in the field of electricity between the two countries.

It also held the "Power New Technology Conference" focusing on areas with promising export opportunities such as diagnostic technology in the power distribution sector and K-SEMS (KEPCO Smart Energy Management System) and promoted the "BIXPO 2019" (Bitgaram International Exposition of Electric Power Technology) to be held in Gwangju in November.

KEPCO will continue to take the lead in attaining sustainable shared growth so that leading small and medium-sized companies can explore export channels in foreign markets and lay the foundation to grow up into a strong, globally competitive company, the spokesman said.
