Some 220 domestic and foreign companies, including Kolmar Korea and Dongkook Pharmaceutical, will participate in CPhI Korea to explore overseas markets.

Korea Pharmaceutical Traders Association said it will hold a global pharmaceutical industry exhibition, CPhI Korea 2019, at COEX in Seoul from Aug. 21 to 23, to promote exports of medicines.

The CPhI Korea 2019 will be joined by 81 South Korean companies, including Kolmar Korea, Dongkook Pharm., Samoh Pharmaceutical and Jeil Health Science, as well as 109 firms from overseas. About 5,300 domestic and foreign pharmaceutical industry workers are also expected to attend.

In particular, more foreign buyers are expected to visit this year as it links with the Global Pharmaceutical Export Counseling Meeting, co-hosted by Incheon Metropolitan City, KOTRA and Korea Pharmaceutical Traders Association.

The exhibition consists of a variety of side events, including 1:1 business matchmaking programs, conferences and seminar for participants, to support the expansion of business networks for local companies.

Korea Pharmaceutical Traders Association held a forum under the theme of "QbD, a quality upgrading system based on medicine design," to prepare opportunities for people in the pharmaceutical industry to understand the QbD-related refining process.

It will also sign an MOU with Chile's PROLMED Association to share information on the Korea-Chile drug market and promote mutual cooperation. The association expects the MOU to serve as a bridgehead for entering Latin America, including Brazil and Argentina, as well as the Chilean market.

"CPhI Korea will be a good opportunity for small and medium-sized pharmaceutical companies to explore overseas markets and acquire information," said an official at the association, adding, "We will also be able to meet new partners from around the world and redefine our ties with existing trading partners."
