SK Networks Chairman Choi Shin-won, who is visiting Brazil, met with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and promised to support education for startups.
In a meeting with President Bolsonaro at the presidential palace in Brazil on Aug. 22, Choi attached deep meaning to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between South Korea and Brazil and said, "Based on our long-standing relationship, we will try to find and expand opportunities for business cooperation in the Brazilian market where the Republic of Korea and SK Networks have great growth potential."
“In addition, based on the fact that companies that enter foreign markets can establish a sustainable business structure from a mid- to long-term perspective only when the local market grows together, we will work out ways to support start-up-oriented education development so that SK Networks can help develop the education sector, which is the basis for the development of Brazilian society," Choi said.
In addition, he stressed that as chairman of the Korea-Brazil Society, he will serve as an advance guard to further promote economic, social and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
During his visit to South Korea last year, Bolsonaro, who was then a congressman, met Choi and said, "Education played an absolute role in Korea's early emergence as an economic powerhouse."
"We hope that the quality of education in Brazil will improve and create a win-win relationship through the interest and support of Chairman Choi and SK Networks," he said, expressing gratitude for SK Networks' support.
