It invested a total of 60 billion won, but it falls short of expectation in game quality

Nexon has stopped developing its online PC MMORPG Peria Chronicles, which had been in production for about eight years since 2011.

Nexon said on Aug. 27 that it did not satisfy users after checking the game's game quality internally and externally. The "Peria Chronicles" is estimated to have invested a total of 60 billion won.

First unveiled in 2011 under the pseudonym "Project NT," the "Peria Chronicles" received much attention for its 3-D graphics using cartoon rendering and its summoning "Kirana" system that coexists with humans within the game.

Nexon explained, however, that it stopped developing the game because it was not enough to satisfy users after checking its game quality internally and externally, including a closed-door trial test conducted in May.

Peria Chronicles developer Thingsoft is one of Nexon's seven development studios. Nexon Korea has invested 63.8 billion won in Thingsoft through its subsidiary Neople since its establishment in 2010.

Meanwhile, the recently suspended Nexon project is not the first of its kind. After Nexon Red's "Xeno Project" ran aground, "Studio 42" under Neople, which was developing "Dave" and "four towers," was dismantled. The personnel in question are currently under transition deployment, Nexon said.
