Hyundai Card will exclusively sponsor "The Hyundai Card Performance Series," a media performance program newly showcased by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

Currently, MoMA is in the process of refurbishing and expanding the space to revive the purpose of its establishment as a laboratory that studies and showcases contemporary art. It is scheduled to reopen on Oct. 21 after renovation.

In the center of the new MoMA will be "Marie-Josée and Henry Kravis Studio," a space for live programs and performances.
Hyundai Card will be the world's first sole sponsor of all media and performance programs in the space. Located at the fourth floor collection gallery in the heart of MoMA, the studio will showcase various projects by artists covering performances, music, sound and moving images.

Hyundai Card will officially sponsor "Haegue Yang: Handles," artist Haegue Yang's first solo exhibition at MoMA representing South Korea, and "Member: Pope.L, 1978–2001" by the artist Pope.L, who had an important impact in the history of performance art.

Haegue Yang is an artist who is actively working on his work in Korea and Germany, and is planning to introduce a large-scale installation work at the MoMA.

Yang is drawing attention on the world stage as Glenn Lowry, director at MoMA, who visited Korea in April, said, "I hope people who visited MoMA to see Gogh works will be excited while seeing Yang's work."

Hyundai Card, which has built a special relationship with MoMA since launching its official online store in 2006, has been the sole sponsor of the Bauhaus special exhibition in 2009, as well as the MoMA exhibition, which is a major base of art history such as Picasso and Le Corbusier.

In particular, Hyundai Card has been actively supporting local artists and officials' overseas expansion through MoMA, conducting a "Destination: Seoul" project to promote local designers and their works on the world stage through MoMA Retail in 2009, and running a Korean internship program for MoMA.
