On June, 14, Akira Takata, President of Japanet Takata and Cho Hwan-ik, CEO of KOTRA agreed to work together. KOTRA signed MOU with Japanet Takata Company to support entering Japanese Market for Korean's high quality products.
KOTRA is going to introduce Korean products to the Japanet Takata and Japanet Takata will promote Korean products via TV, radio and online.
Japanet Takata is the famous TV Shopping Mall in Japan mainly targeting household appliances, including video, sound handling throughout Japan. In addition, they made the highest sale record in 2008 and became no. 1 Home-shopping Company in Japan. Even they made the term, "Japanet Otaku" (Otaku refers to a fan of any particular theme, topic, or hobby in Japanese).
President Takata has been present at "Buy Korea Export Fair" in March. It is known that he saw the possibility of Korean items through the consultation with 21 of local companies at that time.
In fact, entering the Japanese consumer market has been very tough. Through this cooperation, KOTRA see the future as bright since the agreement just opened the future of Japanese market entry.
