The union and management of Kumho Tire have entered the negotiations again as the collective bargaining plan tentatively agreed upon by both sides were rejected twice by  the union members.

According to Kumho Tire on Sept. 15, labor and management of Kumho Tire recently began renegotiations after unionized workers voted down the 2018 collective bargaining plan tentatively agreed upon by management and labor last month.

Labor and management will speed up negotiations to reach an agreement after the Chuseok holidays.

Earlier on Jan. 29 and Aug. 13, union members voted on the tentative agreement, but all were rejected.

The proposed collective bargaining plan, tentatively agreed upon between labor and management, calls for facility investment in domestic plants and labor management to be discussed and promoted through future dialogue in consideration of the current situation between both sides.

The relocation of the Gwangju plant will be joined by labor and management in a joint task force.

They also agreed to raise the ceiling on the withdrawal of retirement pensions in the middle and pay 100,000 won a month as a monthly allowance for moulding workers.

They decided to delete the controversial clause on preferential hiring of children of union members.

Starting next year, the retirement age will be adjusted to the end of the first half of the year reaching 60 years old. Currently, retirees retire on a birthday basis and get retired every month.
