SK Broadband participates in the "SD-WAN SUMMMIT 2019" conference in Paris from Sept. 24 to 26 to showcase its virtualization security terminals, SD-LAN (Software Defined-Local Area Network) technologies that converge 5G and virtualization technologies.
In addition to the current wired WAN ports, WAN (Wide Area Network), which is an external communication port for software-type virtualization security terminals, will be added to 5G WAN ports, and even if wired communication is cut, network connectivity will continue through 5G wireless communication, which will greatly enhance survival.
It will also introduce SD-LAN technology that can centrally control a number of complex networks by applying SDN (Software Defined Network) and make it easier for non-experts to manage the network.
SK Broadband has formed a consortium with SK Telecom, Atto Research, and the Korea Industrial Technology Protection Association to develop a virtualization security solution that includes 5G WAN functions and expand the market by applying related technologies that are used to launch the world's first 5G commercialization service, and to establish an educational environment for schools based on 5G Streaming VR (Virtual Reality).
"It is significant that we can introduce our country's advanced 5G network service model and next-generation network control technology to the world. Efforts will be made to improve the international competitiveness of Korea's network industry by developing technologies with domestic small and medium-sized enterprises," said Park Chan-woong, head of SK Broadband's Infra division.
