Choi looked around the companies including XCeed and Culnat, they showed their interest in cooperation with global companies like Samsung. And Choi suggested that cooperation between the two nations would make a synergy effect for entering the Africa and European markets.
Ali Moselhi, Minister of Social Solidarity and Choi discussed about cooperation between the two countries focusing on broadcast communications. Minister Ali hoped to share the experience of the rapid development of ICT and requested close cooperation for broadband propagation. In addition, he has expressed an interest about the participating companies for WiBro networks in Korea. Currently they plan to build fixed and mobile broadband networks to spread the internet in underserved areas.
On this, Choi introduced Korea's experiences of high-speed internet and ICT growth said that he would be able to contribute to wireless broadband market in Egypt as providing WiBro commercial services by Korean companies.
Meanwhile, Chairman Choi and Tarek Mohamed Kamel, Minister, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology signed an MOU for broadcasting cooperation between the two countries. They also agreed to work closely together throughout the field of broadcast communications including, broadcasting policy and regulation in telecommunications, WiBro, DMD. IPTV and broadcast convergence products and services and terrestrial digital conversion between the two countries.
For this, the two countries plan to work on cooperation in international organizations such as co-hosting of seminars, workshops and ITU. Also, joint research projects including professional training and research and development.
This visit of Chairman Choi is significant progress for the cooperation between the two countries and new opportunities are expected to be available to Korean companies for advancement in Egypt and Africa.
