On June 16, SERI (Samsung Economic Research Institute) announced the report, "Mobile Big-bang and the future of corporate management." And the report forecasts that one of five people in Korea would possess a Smartphone next year. SERI expects that it would take only 5 years to increase the number of users from 5 to 20 per 100 people since the Smartphone craze has been exploding and the use of mobile internet are growing. It is shorter than land line phone (31 years), internet (8 years) and mobile phone (6 years)
Along with the change, the corporate management environment will be changed as well. According to recent survey among national executives, 32 percent of companies have brought in mobile office systems or are currently implementing them. 32.2 percent will introduce the mobile office within the three years.
Now the mobile big-bang is the trend we can't avoid in the future; therefore, strategic decision making is important to get a chance. And the report advises to companies that effective monitoring and field-oriented empowerment should be in parallel with strengthened open partnerships with outside companies, understanding the core values of the mobile age and retooling the business model. In addition, regulatory reform for mobile is a must do for government.
