Hanwha Group's major defense affiliates will showcase weapons equipped with advanced, intelligent and unmanned solutions at the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADEX) to be held at Seoul Airport in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, from Oct. 15 to 20.
Hanwha Group made an announcement on Oct. 14 that Hanwha, Hanwha Aerospace, Hanwha Defense, and Hanwha System will open an integrated exhibition hall measuring 1,320 square meters at ADEX in Seoul.
At the exhibition, Redback armored vehicle, laser explosive processor, personal combat system, and the next antiaircraft weapon will be unveiled.
The Redback armored vehicle is a futuristic combat armored vehicle equipped with a power pack of proven K9 self-propelled gun and a 30mm machine gun. The laser weapon system, which is considered an alternative to ammunition and missiles, will also be on display for the first time. The laser explosive processor is a futuristic weapon system that disables improvised explosive devices or small- and medium-caliber ammunition.
In the field of intelligent solutions, we can see performance improvement projects for the KTMO-CELL and models for testing CR walkie-talkie. The Ballistic Missile Operations Control Center is a command-and-control organization that oversees ballistic missile defense operations.
Defense robots, which are unmanned solutions that dramatically increase the survival of shooters in battle fields, and remote controlled weapon station (RCWS), and drone detection sensors will also be displayed.
It will also showcase key technologies related to the KF-X fighter, which will be developed in 2026. Attention is focusing on the AESA Radar, which is a cutting-edge radar that detects and tracks targets in the air and ground, and the F414 engine, which serves as the heart of KF-X.
In addition, a variety of guided weapons systems can be seen, such as the multiple launch rocket system, called "Cheonmu" (realistic), and the air-to-ground guided missile, called "Cheongeum" (model).
