Asiana Airlines has strengthened its social contribution activities in Vietnam, enhancing its reputation as a South Korean nationality in the country.

Asiana Airlines visited the "Thao Nguyen Xanh Center," a child care support facility in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with the UNICEF's Korean Committee on Nov. 5 (local time). Jo Young-seok, executive director of communications at Asiana Airlines, a staff volunteer group, Lee Ki-chul, secretary general of UNICEF's Korean committee, and education officials from the Ho Chi Minh city government, attended the event.

The project was designed to take care of the infants and children of low-income workers who moved to Ho Chi Minh City, and 300 children are benefiting from four centers in the city.

Asiana Airlines signed an agreement with UNICEF's Korean Committee in 2017 to raise 150 million won in its employee payroll fund, while UNICEF's Korean committee raised 300 million won through a campaign to collect in-flight coins of love.

"On the occasion of the 25th anniversary, the accumulated amount of 'in-flight coin of love collection' campaign with UNICEF exceeded 14.5 billion won. In addition, we have been supporting the 'Vietnam infant child care support' project to share a more meaningful business," Asiana Airlines executive director Cho said. "We will continue to consolidate our social responsibility and global partnership with UNICEF through various social contribution activities."

The visit involved flight attendants from the "Bread of Asiana," a volunteer club for Asiana Airlines' cabin crew, and visited the "Thao Nguyen Xanh" childcare support center and the "Mam Non 8" kindergarten to have fun with the children, along with magic shows and mini sports day.

In addition to the project, Asiana Airlines has regularly engaged in active social contribution activities, including the "Vietnam-Beautiful Classroom" which supports low-income female vocational training in Hai Duong Province, along with KOICA.
