With the economic crisis in Southern European countries an unstable exchange rate would be pain defined for management in the second half of this year, Samsung personnel gathered to prepare.
Samsung held its second half 'Global Strategy Council' on June 22 for 3 days in Suwon Digital cIty and Giheung Nano city.
On the first day of the meeting, about 400 executives from different divisions and other Samsung personnel were present. They talked about the performance at first half and decided the business strategy plan for the second half of the year.
The statement of performance for the first half year was evaluated as a successful since it showed sustainable growth for semiconductor, LCD TV and mobile phones. The key words for the second half of the year were decided as Premium, Leadership, Localization, SCM (Supply Chain Management) and Compliance.
As a follow up action, Samsung will create a virtuous circle business by raising the profitability of premium products, and securing the global leadership in strategy products such as 3D TV and Smartphone. And Samsung will strengthen the local competency to create new valued products which satisfy customers around the world by discovering innovative products which reflect the market of information and ideas in the local area.
