Asiana Airlines has been recognized by Airbus as the best operating airline of the A320 fleet (A320, A321, etc.)
Asiana Airlines won the A320 Highest Operational Reliability award at the A320Family&A330/A340 Asia Pacific Regional Seminar held in Melbourne, Australia, on Dec. 4.
The award is given to airlines operating the A320 fleet around the world for the past year with the highest confidence in maintenance of domestic/international flights.
Asiana Airlines' confidence in maintenance of the corresponding aircraft recorded 99.86 over the past year, according to Airbus. The global average for airlines is 99.32, and the average for airlines in the Asia-Pacific region is 99.53.
Maintenance reliability, an indicator of "timeliness excluding the number of over 15 minutes of delayed flights due to maintenance factors out of the total number of flights," was 99.86, and it means that only 14 maintenance delays occurred in 10,000 flights.
This is one-fifth and one-third of the average of 68 delays for worldwide airlines and 47 delays for Asia-Pacific airlines.
"Unrelated to the domestic and international business environment, Asiana Airlines is making continuous investments to strengthen its safety operations," an Asiana Airlines official said. "We will make more efforts to meet the trust of our customers."
