S-Oil led by CEO Hussain A. Al-QahtanI delivered 104 million won to the Korea Social Welfare Council for children suffering from biliary atresia at its headquarters in Mapo-gu, Seoul on Dec. 18.

The donation was created by more than 1,800 S-Oil executives and staffs who donated less than 10,000 won from their monthly pay.

Biliary atresia is a rare newborn disease that can cause liver damage as some or all of the biliary is closed, causing damages in the intestines.

Sun Jin-young, director of S-Oil Management Support Headquarters, said, "The 11-year-old campaign has been operated by 1,800 executives and employees through participation in the pay change. S-Oil will continue to make efforts to bring back bright smiles to children and their families suffering from the disease. "

S-Oil has helped children with low income families by signing an agreement with the Korea Society for Social Welfare in 2009 to bring back bright smiles to children. S-Oil provided about 1.7 billion won in medical care to 126 families over 11 years.

Also, S-Oil employees are carrying out volunteer activities by taking pictures of patients’ families every month, providing them with frames and albums.

S-Oil has been launching a campaign since 2005 to donate its gas points saved by customers to help neighbors. The donations over the past 15 years amounted to 483 million won. About 76,000 bonus point customers donated 240 million won worth of reserve points, in which S-Oil contributed the same amount.
