JB Financial Group held an event on Dec. 21 to deliver heating underwears to some 300 foreign workers at Jeonbuk Bank's Suwon Foreign Finance Center.
The event was designed to help foreign workers in Southeast Asia who are not familiar with the cold winter weather in Korea. The event was held over the weekend in consideration of foreign workers who were unable to visit the bank due to their work during the week.
The content was made known through Instagram, which was produced by college students' SNS PR ambassadors.
Jeonbuk Bank, a subsidiary of JB Financial Group, operates six foreign financial centers across the country, including Suwon Foreign Finance Center, and offers 15 percent rate loans to foreign workers who are required to take out 30 to 40 percent high-interest loans in their home countries.
Last year alone, more than 10,000 foreign workers used loan services at Jeonbuk Bank's Suwon Foreign Finance Center.
Jeonbuk Bank's Suwon Foreign Financial Center runs the center until 9 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and weekdays for the convenience of foreign workers who are unable to visit during the week. In addition, it has hired foreign employees directly from Nepal, Myanmar, the Philippines, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam to provide better financial services.
"We prepared this event in the hope that foreign workers who are suffering in other countries will feel warm at the end of the year when they are supposed to spend with their families," said an official at JB Financial Group. "JB Financial Group plans to continue to carry out continuous volunteer activities."
