LG Uplus Vice Chairman Ha Hyun-hoi will visit the CES2020 to be held in Las Vegas from Jan. 7-10 next year in an effort to speed up digital transformation to create differentiated customer values.
LG Uplus announced on Dec. 26 that Vice Chairman Ha and other executives and employees will observe CES2020 and examine digital transport strategies that are being pursued across the company to innovate the value of products and services based on understanding customers and technology changes in the digital age.
First, Ha will meet with global ICT companies such as Facebook and T-Mobile to share the current status of digital transmission being pursued by each company and discuss innovation tasks and achievements based on them.
The company also plans to discuss ways to cooperate with major manufacturers such as LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics on 5G devices, while also examining AI, IoT, 5G-based platform-based services, and smart services that incorporate big data.
It will also carefully check self-driving and smart mobility sectors such as Hyundai Motor, Hyundai Mobis and Intel. Vice Chairman Ha plans to visit leading global companies in the field of self-driving technology to check and cooperate with mobile telecommunication businesses that are linked with connected cars, and to look at business models that utilize high-tech technologies from domestic and foreign companies.
"Operation methods and service innovation through digital switching will be key means to create differentiated customer values in 5G era," Ha said. "Based on the world’s best network and service capabilities, we are planning to strengthen our original competitiveness."
In order to proactively respond to digital transformation in the telecommunication and media industries through reorganization, LG Uplus recently established ‘DX’ that acts as a control tower for digital conversion under CSO, its chief strategy officer, and unified technology-related organizations under FC into ‘DXT Group’.
