"Chaehwang," the vegetable ramen (instant noodle) produced by Ottogi, has won the Vegan certification from The Vegan Society, a British vegan association.
"Chaehwang" uses 10 vegetables, including mushrooms, radishes, onions, garlic and cabbages to taste clean and simple, and is a delicious ramen without meat. That is why it is loved not only by vegetarians but also by health-conscious general consumers, the company said.
The "Chaehwang" noodles are soft and chewy using potato starch, and have a cleaner noodle texture with vegetable extract.
The soup uses shiitake mushrooms and soybean paste, which are unique flavors of shiitake mushrooms and deep taste of soybean paste, so you can feel the deep taste without putting meat in it.
"Chaehwang is loved by health-conscious consumers," an Ottogi official said. "It will lead the vegetarian trend with a certification from the British association."
Meanwhile, the association is a non-profit organization founded in 1944 and has been active as the world's oldest original vegan organization.
It also conducts various campaigns every year through online and offline communities around the world to promote animal welfare and human health.
