Lotte Chilsung has started to innovate processes in the production, Supply Chain Management (SCM) and sales sectors of the beverage business through Digital Transformation.
Lotte Chilsung said on Jan. 5 that it is conducting a digital transformation to build and upgrade systems in each sector to enhance work efficiency and have a quick and reasonable decision-making system based on data.
The production department has established a Supervisor Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) system that transmits operational data of production facilities at a distance to the central server and monitors facility operation status and production flow through the data transmitted.
In addition, the tablet was used to create an environment where on-site staff could respond immediately to problems with production facilities through SCADA systems.
SCM, production sector introduced Sales and Operation Planning (S&OP) computing system that automated and centralized business processes ranging from demand prediction, inventory operation and production plan. The S&OP system provides visibility into the entire business process and enables fast and flexible task response to sudden variables. In addition, the time required for work was reduced as inventory supplement guides and production plans were automatically drawn up.
In sales sector, the upgraded Sales Forces Automation (SFA) 2.0 system offers customized applications optimized for each user’s business, including sales, delivery, logistics, new distribution and partner companies. It implemented Smart Work by computerizing tasks that were carried out by hand and providing tablets to work anytime, anywhere.
"We will analyze consumer needs based on big data and conduct marketing that reflects them to enhance customer value." said Lotte Chilsung. "Based on the digital conversion know-how built up in the beverage business, we will gradually expand and introduce it to the liquor business."
