Samsung Electronics has introduced its next strategic Smartphone called ‘Galaxy S20’ series and its foldable Smartphone called ‘Galaxy Z Flip’ that opens and closes up and down.

Samsung Electronics held a "Samsung Galaxy Unpack 2020" event at the Palace of Fine Art in San Francisco on the afternoon of February 11 (local time) and introduced the Galaxy S20, Galaxy Z Flip and wireless phone "Galaxy Buzz Plus" with 3,000 people attending.

For the Galaxy S20 series, the most noticeable feature is the camera and 5G single mode. For the premium line-up "Galaxy S20 Ultra," which has a 108-megapixel main camera, it can zoom as much as 100 times without any major damage to its image quality. It is not even comparable to DSLR cameras.

It is also worth seeing the latest 5G standard, Standalone mode, which boasts fast network access times and data speed installed in the Galaxy S20 series. Through this, 8K video streaming or uploading, video call, and high-end mobile games are also possible without interruption.

“As we enter this new decade, 5G will completely change how we communicate and how we experience the world around us,” said Dr. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics. “As all three Galaxy S20 variants come with 5G connectivity, Samsung is providing a next-generation device for transforming people’s lives. With an incredible, AI-powered camera, you can capture the moments as they happen and connect more seamlessly with the people you love.”

Samsung Electronics also introduced Galaxy Z Flips in the form of clamshells that fold up and down instead of conventional foldable Smartphones that unfold and fold up on both sides. It folds into the size of a wallet, so you can easily fit it in your pocket or bag. When closed, it is a stylish, compact palm-sized device. When opened, its screen size nearly doubles to reveal a stunning 6.7-inch display2.

Galaxy Z Flip features an Infinity Flex Display with Samsung’s proprietary bendable Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG), making it slimmer with a sleek, premium look and feel that has never been seen with a foldable device before. The centered in-display camera cutout at the top also means there’s no notch and no distractions, with Samsung’s first-ever 21.9:9 ratio, so you can enjoy even more of your favorite content such as cinema-ratio 21:9 shows and movies.

“At Samsung, we were encouraged by the excitement for the Galaxy Fold. Galaxy Z Flip is an important next step as we look to build the foldable category by bringing to consumers a new form factor, new display and most importantly, a new kind of mobile experience,” said Dr. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics. “With Galaxy Z Flip’s unique foldable design and user experience, we’re redefining what a mobile device can be, and what it enables consumers to do.”
