With the start of July, The Korea Real 3D Content Production Association started its move officially. The Korea Real 3D Content Production Association had a Kick-Off Ceremony today. For today's event, more than 200 guests from corporate relations and 3D related institutions were present for the ceremony. Also Yu In-Chon, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Yang Seung Taik, invited Researcher from ETRI and Kwak Kyung Taek, movie director, attended the ceremony.
Kim Tae-Sub, First Chairman of the Korea Real 3D Content Production Association and Chairman of KDC Group greeted every guest and started by saying "the 3D revolution is blowing around the world and the revolution just speeds up ranging from the home theaters, mobile to all types of displays." And he continued "For the development of the nation's 3D content industry, we will establish a variety of infrastructure elements for 3D content and will strengthen research and development through voluntary cooperation and participation."
Soon, Yu In-chon, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism gave a speech. He said "Now the 3D content industry will be a next-generation growth engine for the national economy and culture. As the government invests KRW 800 billion in the 3D industry in the next five years, I hope this launch will act as a cornerstone for the 3D industry development in Korea."
Followed by, the director of famous Korean movie, Friend, Kwak Kyung Taek stood at the stage. Kwack stressed that to survive, acceptance of new technology is important and 3D content is the only answer for the future of movie industry.
The Korea Real 3D Content Production Association was established on May 27 for the purpose of the 3D content industry activation, market promotion with member companies and for supporting 3D industry infrastructure. As the first and largest association of 3D content in Korea, currently, over 50 members companies and research institutions, academia and related industries are involved.
This association will strive for market research, display standardization, creation of content and research and development for 3D. In addition, other various businesses such as education, symposia, exhibitions and competitions will be promoted.
