While personal imports of iPad have been abandoned in Korea, there is a rumor going on that SK Telecom, the biggest mobile carrier in Korea, is in talks with Apple to lift iPad as well as iPhone. The date when these gadgets arrive is not certain at the moment. If the deal is settled, SK is going to be the first carrier of iPad in Korea. iPhone has been carried by KT exclusively since November 2009. And they reached 800 thousand subscribers for iPhone in sales.
Although we wish the news was true, according to a representative from SK Telecom, "Nothing is settled yet. We are just considering it. That is all." Hopefully they will decide to carry the devices in Korea.
