Samsung C&T's construction unit was listed on March 9 as the first Korean builder to win the award at the 2020 "CIO" 100 Awards organized by IDG, a global IT media and research organization.
The CIO 100 Awards, which started in 1987, evaluates major companies, institutions and organizations around the world once a year to select 100 companies that created high business value through IT technology as winners.
The CIO judges evaluate how innovative the company or institution under review is in each industry group and how the innovation has brought about the organization's impact and business performance.
Under the theme of "Digital Innovation to Prevent Construction Safety Accidents," Samsung C&T established an integrated construction safety management system, which received high praise for preempting potential risk factors at the site.
