Doosan Corporation Europe (DCE), the Hungary-based corporation of Doosan Solus, announced on March 16 that it has signed a long-term contract with a global battery manufacturer to supply copper foil for batteries of electric vehicles.
The contract period is four years from 2021 to 2024, and the contract amount is worth around 100 billion won.
This is Doosan Solus' second long-term contract for supply of copper foil for batteries after it signed a supply contract with another battery company late last year.
This will allow the Doosan Solus’ Hungarian corporation to secure a supply source of about 80 percent of its annual CAPA standing at 10,000 tons before the completion of the plant.
A company official said, "The Doosan Solus’ copper foil has strong points in terms of strength and elongation. We secured the original technology of copper foil through the takeover of Circuit Foil Luxembourg (CFL) in 2014.”
"The signing of the long-term supply contract is the result of the recognition of the performance and quality of the Doosan Solus copper foil from global battery customers," said Lee Yoon-seok, CEO of Doosan Solus. "We plan to gradually increase the production volume of 10,000 tons per year to 50,000 tons in line with market demand."
