For global software development, the Korean Government promotes a 'World Best Software (WBS)' project investing KRW 1 trillion for three years. On July 7, finally the tasks were set to the Korean Government to create the world's best software.
The Ministry of Knowledge Economy announced seven categories of challenge projects to propel starting this year to next year.
The development of software will focus on the fusion with manufacturing and services industry instead of the pure software development. In the manufacturing field the Airline, Mobile and Auto industry will fuse into software development. Many advanced nations have chosen Airline software development in terms of political and economic. To develop the airline software, the Korean Government promotes the UUAV standard solution development and test bad buildup.
The Smartphone platform will also be upgraded. The open web platform based on HTML 5 which is expected to be in the limelight and web application frameworks are the targets of development. It will be extended to apply on a variety of mobile devices including web pads and e-books.
At the same time, the development of automobile software aims at the commercial sector of electronic control units based on AUTOSAR technology.
In terms of the service industry, software development faces challenges in sector development for security, medical and transportation. In security, software directs to the solutions development for mobile vaccine detection and decoding.
Medical care software is about intelligent types of imaging diagnosis systems, therapy development and co-development of frameworks for global healthcare information solutions. Last but not least, transportation software focuses on AFC (Automatic Fare Collection) system solutions development.
The MKE is going to select the business or best consortium to promote the project in the end of August. They will also support the core software in domestic industry and package software for overseas market.
