Looking forward, the height of summer heralds a few surprises.  Aside from soaring temperatures, there is a double whammy of renewable energy mid July with the New and Renewable energy exhibition and Electronic Vehicles [EV] Korea exhibition being hosted in Seoul at the Coex.  The exhibition is about the electric vehicle industry and peripherals, such as batteries. EV Korea is accompanied by a conference on smart batteries and a cell forum for those in the industry.  It is here that trends will be presented and the conference should be of interest internationally as it is countries such as the United States of America that have cost benefits for consumers purchasing electric vehicles.  At the moment the trend for these vehicles is more apparent in international markets than in Korea but that may be set to change.  The joint exhibitions are supported by Ministry of Knowledge and Economy and Korean Electric Research.

Not immune to fusion, the mobile market is undergoing changes and some next mobile fusion industry developments are on at the Coex.

The Coex is also host to the 30th International conference on the physics of semiconductors.  This runs for five days and has a series of associated but satellite conferences.  It also has many esteemed speakers attending to share ideas on everything ranging from lattice dynamics to transport properties.

Among the more unusual events currently underway is e-stars Seoul, a game and e-sports festival supporting the globalization and development of the Korean game industry. It is part of the Seoul Digital Culture Festival.

Even for those on the peripheral of the industry, event attendance can lead to valuable exchanges of information and ways of doing things that can only broaden your experience.  For buyers, browsers or boasters the summer's IT event offering in Seoul is diverse and well worth it.  What we have mentioned is only the tip of the iceberg as to the IT must sees in Korea.

Things to look forward to...

The KES [Korea Electronics Show] is scheduled for mid October.  Nano Korea is coming soon at the KINTEX.  The mobile fusion industry conference at the Coex promises insight, but it is in Korean.  One day attendance is also possible at the physics of semiconductors conference on at the Coex.

The environmental vehicle and battery exhibition and seminar EV Korea and New and Renewable energy is coming too and we pick it as an event of great interest because with carbon reduction a part of the Korean Government plan, it is a good idea to be well informed of what's available when the switch comes.  It isn't only those in Korea that will be interested, for countries with forthcoming subsidies or legislation, the buying available will be premium.

We know a few secrets here at Korea IT Times and though what we can share with you is limited, we can say that someone, apparently, has a new TV coming.

Enjoy the summer!
