Nexen Tire said on April 6 that it has won the main prize in the product design category of the Red Dot Design Award 2020 in Germany.
The Red Dot Design Award assessing innovation, aestheticism, usability, etc. is an international design contest organized by the German Nordheim Best Palen Design Center since 1995.
It is one of the top three global design awards along with the American IDEA Design Award and Germany's iF Design Award.
The "N'FERA Sports" product is a summer premium tire that provides excellent drainage performance through 3+1 wide grooves and features asymmetric patterns suitable for high-speed driving.
It also applies 3D grooves to the side to enhance block rigidity through optimal design for excellent handling.
In addition, the application of the new compound maximizes grip and braking forces and provides excellent performance on dry surfaces as well as wet roads.
"The outstanding performance at the world design awards is the result of the recognition of Nexen Tire's performance and quality as well as its design competitiveness," said Cheon Kyung-woo, head of Nexen Tire's Central Research Institute.
Meanwhile, N'FERA Sports has recently got reputations better than 'buy recommendations' in tests conducted by major European automotive magazines such as ADAC Motor Belt, Auto Bild (Germany), TCS (Swiss), ÖAMTC (Austria) and others, and has been recognized for their high quality and technical skills.
