Seoul Motor Show 2009 has taken on a fevered pitch as the number of visitors has reached 340 thousand as of April 5. The Seoul Motor Show started on April 2 for 11 days of excitement. According to SMS organization officials, 102 thousand visited KINTEX, Koyang City, Kyungdido Province, on Saturday April 4, and 184 thousand on Sunday April 5. The SMS officials added that 6,650 members of the press gathered on press day, April 2, to celebrate the opening of the show.  Also, 53 thousand bought tickets on the first weekday, bringing the total number to 340 thousand.

“On the weekend not only those who like automobiles but also young couples on dates came to the show to have fun,” said an SMS official.

Crowded ticket booths of course created a crowded show floor
Mercedes-Benz Korea took an opportunity during the show to invite 30 children for complimentary lunches and gave them T-shirts as souvenirs. Ford Korea held a fan-signing event with actress Im Eun-kyung, singer Huang Bo, and actor Kim Jung-hyun to create Ford mania.

The show will run until April 12. There will be a lottery drawing event every day to give one auto to a lucky visitor who puts the torn part of their entry ticket into one of several lottery boxes around the show floor. On April 3, Choi Jong-bum (49) had his dream come true of being selected as the winner of a KIA Soul. On April 4, Lee Susanna (39) got a Ford Escape 2.5 XLT in the same lottery.
