Jam City, Netmarble's North American subsidiary and global mobile game developer, said on April 27 that its mobile adventure RPG "Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery," which marks its second anniversary on April 23, recorded 35 billion minutes of accumulated playing time worldwide.
According to Infographic released by Jam City to mark the second anniversary of its launch, users around the world played a total of 50 million Quidditch games through the game, with 2 billion trials of magic orders and 2 million OWL tests.
The game, licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and launched globally under the Portkey Games label, topped the download list in more than 40 countries, including the United States and Canada, shortly after its launch on April 25, 2018.
In celebration of its second anniversary, Jam City is holding a contest where users can make their own Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery game costumes.
Applicants can design and present original costumes that embody the individuality of the four dormitories at Hogwarts Magic School.
And the final winner will be determined by voting among them. The winner will be officially added to the game through an update in the fall of 2020.
In addition, digital party costumes that game characters can wear and a set of slippers dedicated to each dormitory are provided to all users. It will host various in-game events, including various party decorations and colorful paper pieces in the dormitory's lounge.
Meanwhile, Harry Potter: The Hogwarts Mystery is the first mobile game in which users can have a virtual experience attending Hogwarts School of Magic.
It is an adventure RPG game that focuses on story development, and users create their own characters to enter Hogwarts School of Magic, which appears in the original book, and solve various quests, including learning magic.
