KT made an announcement on June 2 that it will release 5G Smart Factory Vision, a 5G machine vision service, along with Cognex, which specializes in industrial machine vision.
"KT 5G Smart Factory Vision" refers to a service that collects images and analyzes data through cameras installed in factories so that people can effectively perform visual inspection tasks such as defect inspection, product identification, and dimensional measurement using artificial intelligence.
It combines KT's ICT capabilities and Cognex's image recognition technology to provide functions such as 5G-based real-time video monitoring, cloud platform dedicated to smart factories, deep learning vision analysis, and process status mobile notification.
KT's 5G Smart Factory Vision allows cameras to be installed in any location based on 5G network and allows users to send images of inspection and collected data to the management platform in real time without delay.
The collected information can be remotely checked by the user through KT 5G Factory Makers (KT Smart Factory-only platform), and automatically analyzed by AI to determine the operation of the machine. In particular, photographic images can be stored in the cloud to minimize operational and maintenance costs.
KT's 5G Smart Factory Vision consists of a "Rule-based Machine Vision" solution that conducts inspection work according to fixed rules and a "Deep Learning-based Machine Vision" solution that allows inspection of unstructured items.
Because of this, customized services can be provided according to the environment and process of various factories, which can be applied to various types of factories such as automobiles, semiconductors, food, medical pharmaceuticals and displays.
