Hanwha E&C will work with KT, Naver and LG Electronics to apply AI (Artificial Intelligence) and IoT technologies to Forena brand housing products.
On July 23, Hanwha E&C held an agreement ceremony with KT to build a 'Forena AI Smart Home' at Hanwha Building in Janggyo-dong.
Yoon Yong-sang, head of Hanwha Engineering & Construction's construction business division, Kim Chae-hee, head of KT's AI/BigData business division, and about 20 executives and employees of both companies attended the meeting and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation.
On the same day, Hanwha E&C signed a mutual cooperation agreement with LG Electronics and also completed a partnership agreement with Naver.
This business cooperation was carried out to apply AI and IoT technologies in connection with the establishment of a smart home platform (such as mobile phone apps and home network systems) dedicated to Forena.
Hanwha E&C plans to jointly develop the Forena platform by linking KT and Naver's AI voice recognition method with LG Electronics' smart home appliances.
Hanwha E&C is currently developing a smart home platform. Using the smart home platform, managers can use smartphones to control lighting, temperature, ventilation control, and elevator calls.
It is predicted that Smart Home will be built with a more advanced platform by introducing advanced AI and IoT technologies into Forena's app.
Hanwha E&C is also going to develop a link with LG Electronics' LG ThinQ, the artificial intelligence smart home appliance. It plans to allow users to control home appliances such as air conditioners, air purifiers and robot vacuum cleaners through smartphone apps.
"We will provide differentiated housing services to our customers by developing Forena apps and introducing AI and IoT technologies," said Yoon Yong-sang, head of Hanwha Engineering & Construction's construction business division. "We will continue to expand our development areas to strengthen our competitiveness in the home IoT construction market."
