On July 30, KITA (Korea International Trade Association) held its 30th founding ceremony at COEX. This will mark the 64th year of KITA, and they have committed to emerge as the best trade promotion services agency.
Sakong Il, Chairman & CEO of KITA said, "The projects such as the recovery of the global economy, the rise of emerging markets, FTA development and Korea's premium via G20 summit are the 4 encouraging factors for domestic exports." He continued by saying, "If we take advantage of this opportunity, the achievement of 1 trillion trades is possible."
He also stressed that KITA will devote all their energy towards field and customer-centric services to be one of the global trade powers in the world.
To achieve this, KITA is going to enhance the support for trade and industry by supporting the FTA contracting, promoting the export of service industry, boosting international marketing for emerging markets, expanding online/mobile services and many others.
In addition, KITA considers the G20 Summit, which will be held this November in Seoul, as a great opportunity to achieve their master plan. The master plan consists of trade expanding, boosting domestic demand, creating jobs, and developing plans for the convention industry.
Ever since KITA was founded in 1946, it has played an important role in Korea's transformation into one of the world's most preeminent trading country. Now KITA supports the Korean business community as the largest business association in Korea.
