Twitter, the popular social networking and microblogging website, has just recorded it's 20 billionth tweet. The tweeter is a graphic designer in Tokyo, and he tweeted the message that can be closely interpreted to: "So that means the barrage might come back later all at once." The message is difficult to understand because it was part of a larger conversation. In response to finding out he was the 20 billionth tweet, he tweeted: "It looks like I posted the 20 billionth tweet. I'm getting replies from people all over the world. It's scary. What are the chances Maybe I'm going to die. Is it more amazing than winning the lottery I thought it was a joke."
Twitter was first launched back in June of 2006. It took awhile for the public to get into it, but they have come a long way. Today, they have over 100 million users worldwide. Twitter reached it's 15 billionth tweet two months ago, and they reached their 10 billionth tweet three months before that, meaning they reached their 10 billionth tweet in just 4 years after they launched this website.
