KT is poised to make inroads into the mobile applications market based on its low data usage and registration fees. KT is expected to eventually compete with SK Telecom, which opened its own app store in early September, in the mobile applications market.

Apple has wanted to give iPhone hacker George Hotz a stern talking-to for a while now, but it looks like Hotz may have a new tech nemesis brewing. George Hotz told BBC news that he has successfully hacked Sony's PlayStation 3-and it only took him 5 weeks. Hotz claims he started the hack last summer, analyzing the console for about three weeks, and then finally cracked the PS3 in about two weeks not too long ago.

PlayStation 3 had a banner weekend-until last week, no PS3 game had sold a million copies in Japan until Final Fantasy XIII did all in one day. Final Fantasy XIII sold 1.5 million copies after just four days of shelf life. This edition of Final Fantasy also drove up console sales as well, giving Sony a little something to smile about. According to the Business Insider, Sony sold 245,406 PS3 consoles in Japan just last week-striking another record.

The Pixi Plus which is available for Verizon customers features minor changes from the original Pixi. The biggest addition has to be the built-in Wi-Fi, something the original lacked and was heavily criticized for. At $80 the Pixi Plus is one of the more affordable smartphones out there, but it does lack the processing power of the Pre Plus which comes in at a reasonable price of $150. Asus announced their advanced project for this year called Waveface. The Waveface project focuses on mobility and cloud computing. There are three Waveface concept products the Casa, Light, and Ultra. The Waveface Casa is an entertainment center and Internet portal. The Casa features a large widescreen display that is covered up when not in use exposing only small areas that display contextually-relevant information. The Waveface Light is a flexible tablet/netbook hybrid that can be used in a conventional screen-keyboard configuration or fold flat for tablet usage. Last is the Waveface Ultra wrist device that features anytime access to information and like the Light can be folded flat for extra viewing area.

Apple and Google must have "hugged it out" when we weren't looking because Google Voice has slipped onto the iPhone. Apparently, Google has remedied the situation by adding a dash of HTML5 into Voice's Web interface. It looks like Google and Apple got over their spat [not really] with or without the FCC. The new Google Voice mobile Web app is for iPhone OS 3.0 and higher and Palm Web OS devices.

Google says this new web technology that makes it possible to run faster, richer web-based applications right in the browser-although you still need a Google Voice account. Google posted a lovely and educational tutorial video that helps you add the app to your iPhone's Home screen.

You could be forgiven for passing over the extra RAM in Palm’s recently announced Pre Plus as pretty dry news, but apparently a few extra megabytes here and there can make a pretty huge real-world difference. More specifically, the Verizon-bound Palm Pre Plus can run 50 applications simultaneously.
