The Visit Korea Year Committee (VKC) has been making a strong push for four major  projects in 2010 to attract 10 million tourists a year, a top official of the committee said.

The Public Procurement Service (PPS) plans to export Korea ON-line E-Procurement System (KONEPS), called the "Narajangteo" in Korean, to countries in North-West Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Jeollabuk-do has attracted about W8.3 trillion in investment from 427 companies since July 2006 when the governor of the province was inaugurated.

In particular, the province attracted 11 global companies with an investment of over W100 billion  during the period, greatly contributing to the regional development, Kim Wan-joo, governor of Jeollabuk-do said.

The 35^th national quality management contest was held at COEX in Seoul on Nov. 25 with the attendance of some 1,700 government officials, businessmen, workers and other guests.

The annual event, sponsored by the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and managed by the Korean Standards Association (KSA), is designed to spread quality management activities to all industries by presenting national quality awards to excellent companies and businessmen that greatly contributed to improving the quality of goods and services, a KSA spokesman said.

The Saemangeum Gunsan Free Economic Zone (SGFEZ) Authority plans to attract new and renewable energy and advanced parts and material companies, a top official of the authority said.

The 7th Gyeonggi International Travel Mart (GITM2009) will be held at KINTEX in Gyeonggi Province on Nov. 12-13.

Jeju City was selected as the host city of the third Delphic Games on March 31, 2006, at the IDC General Meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa.

G-Fair 2009, the nation's biggest trade fair for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), will be held at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province for three days from Sept. 24.
