Registration of Changes in the Foreign-Invested Company

Foreign investors (or their agents) or a foreign-invested company shall register any changes in the foreign-invested company at the entrustment institution within 30 days from the occurrence of the change as follows.

CEOs of Korea's leading electronics giants are dedicated to making more investment. They were unanimous in reiterating the importance of investment when they met at the Korea Electronics Grand Fair 2009, which opened at KINTEX in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province on Oct. 13.

"G-Fair 2009," a trade show of outstanding goods produced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), will be held at the KINTEX exhibition center in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province for three days from Sept. 24.

The show will be organized by the Gyeonggi provincial government under the joint sponsorship of the Gyeonggi Small & Medium Business Center (GSBC) and the Small & Medium Business Centers Association of Korea (SMBCA).

Lenovo has released the ThinkPad T400s, a four-fingered touch-screen notebook computer. Two-fingered touch-screen notebooks have been developed before, but this was the first time a notebook maker has produced a four-fingered touch-screen notebook.

LG Electronics will release the XPION MINI X30, a super-mini-size desktop computer with graphics functions, on Sept. 18.

The new LG desktop computer can stand anywhere, as it is about half the size of a sheet of A4 paper and weighs only 1.1kg. It is also compatible with a Vesa monitor mount.

The outcome of an analysis shows that Korea's three major IT export items - semiconductors, LCDs and mobile phones - will keep dominating the global market for at least six months. This analysis was released on Sept. 16 as the result of a survey of 92 economic analysts by the Federation of Korean Industries, an association of large conglomerates.

Samsung Electronics has launched services of a Samsung Application Store, an online marketplace where applications for mobile phones can be transacted.

Samsung on Sept. 14 said it has officially opened its Samsung Application Store in the UK, France and Italy.

The Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) on Sept. 10 said its nano proton research team has succeeded in developing a standard signal generating device. According to the KRISS, the new device can generate over 100 times more accurate signals than the existing generators at low voltage of 100 mV.

Korea and Vietnam have discussed ways to cooperate in the IT sector, Korea's e-government technology in particular.

As part of such bilateral cooperation, a total of 13 senior Vietnamese government officials, including Nguyen Huu Vu, vice minister at the Prime Minister's Office of Vietnam, arrived in Korea on Sept. 8.

The government plans to implement a project to lay a broadband convergence network (BcN) with a budget of W250 billion (US$204.4 million) by 2014, so that even remote farming and fishing villages can have access to superspeed combined Internet services, including IPTV and VoIP.

G-Fair 2009, the nation's biggest trade fair for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), will be held at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province for three days from Sept. 24.

Korea launched its first space launch vehicle (KSLV- I), or Naro, from the Naro Space Center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province at 5 pm on Aug. 25 after seven delays. But it failed to put the Science and Technology Satellite-2 into the targeted orbit.

LG Electronics has demonstrated a successful LTE-CDMA handover for handsets for the first time. The demonstration was held at the Nortel R&D Center in Ottawa, Canada last week.

LG Electronics displayed uninterrupted data transmission technologies, including video downloading, web surfing, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), using a handset it has developed.

A culture technology festival will be held to help visitors have hands-on experience in the latest cultural technologies, including digital technology, computer graphics, virtual reality, and games.

The festival will be held at the COEX Convention and Exhibition Center in Seoul from Sept. 8 to 12 under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
