Nongshim Data System's (NDS) innovative automatic clothes-counting system suggested maximized efficiency of large scale clothing malls where many different colored clothes are placed in a huge box to be delivered to the mall. Their system scanned color, size, quantity, and model ID in all of two seconds at 100% accuracy. RFID/USN tags on food container then secured the credibility of food we eat. Any variables that changed the ingredients' originality could be monitored real-time with a tag. This year, RFID/USN Korea puts on a show with a current eye: convergence, the trend.
Scheduled to be held at COEX, Seoul, the 6th annual RFID/USN Korea looks like it would be the biggest RFID/USN convention yet. Since the humble beginnings of 2005 where less than 60 companies participated, RFID/USN Korea has grown over the years with over 30,000 visitors and 175 domestic companies as well as 25 overseas companies expected to be present during the conference, which will be held from Dec 2 to Dec 4 2010. This will in fact make RFID/USN Korea 2010 the world's largest international RFID/USN exhibition, with participants from USA, Japan, China, Singapore, India, Hong Kong, England, Switzerland, Netherlands and Thailand coming to see the show.
Under 'convergence', the latest trend of IT around the globe, the Ministry of Knowledge and Economics (MKE) and the Ministry of Public Administration and Safety (MOPAS) with the Korea RFID/USN convergence association has established their slogan "Come and See! Advanced u-IT Convergence" and is planning their biggest u-IT convention yet.

Two large events, International Exhibition and International Conference will be held at RFID/USN Korea 2010. During these events visitors can attend the latest product debut, technology exhibits, business conferences, u-IT Tour RFID/USN research awards ceremony and the Korea-China-Japan round table.
Always the hotbed of excitement, the international exhibition will be held throughout the whole event, from Dec 2 to Dec 4. The main exhibits will be RFID/USN based convergence solution, mobile RFID, u-IT convergence solution and services which will include u-City solutions and services, the newest RFID (chips, tags and readers)/ USN (sensor nodes, software) products and various international exhibitions from China, Japan, US and Europe. Split into different pavilions such as solution of convergence, products, public enterprise and new/original technologies, these international exhibitions are shaping up to be the source of big excitement.
The international conference will be held for 2 days from Dec 2 to Dec 3. This prestigious conference will have 4 tracks and will host talks of over 50 domestic and international IT experts. Besides the 'common track' which will deal with most of the issues in this event, 3 different tracks will each focus on a specific part of IT convergence and future technology, such as the RFID/USN product centered 'RFID/USN Now & Future' track, 'Convergence' track which will deal with service, industry and infrastructure of IT and the 'Emerging Technology and Service' track which will deal with the latest issues such as M2M, IoT and Cloud Computing. Over 1,000 attendees are expected to take part from all around the world, making the international conference a great place to meet innovative new ideas as well as potential business partners. The conference will be held both in English and Korean with simultaneous interpretation provided.
Take a tour, meet new people or find a seat at the round table
The international exhibition and the international conference will not be the only events on the agenda at RFID/USN Korea 2010. People who are interested in the newest RFID/USN IT convergence products and technology could take part in the technology presentations on Dec 3. The presentation will be divided into two parts, new technology presentation and transferring technology presentation. Participating companies who apply, institutions, academies and companies interested in transferring new technology with RFID/USN can all participate as well as pre-enrolled audiences.
For foreign participants looking for business partners or just curious about everything going around them would have to look no further than the business meetings scheduled for the entire duration of the exhibition from Dec 2 to Dec 4 or the u-IT tour for foreigners scheduled for Dec 3. The business meetings will provide man-to-man business consultations and will be based on study and demand in advance as well as PC, photocopy machine, internet and fax services free of charge. The u-IT tour will be available for foreign buyers and attendees as well as international reporters. Those who apply will be taken on a tour to FRID/USN manufacturing sites, private IT companies and tourist attractions. Lastly, there will be an award ceremony for 13 excellent research papers in the field of RFID/USN which includes the best paper award given by the Minister of Knowledge and Economy. The 'Round Table' is a regular meeting between representatives from Korea, China and Japan on RFID/USN. RFID/USN Korea 2010 is hoping to re-establish RFID/USN as the core of IT convergence technology, and to distribute this core technology widely over the entirety of the domestic IT industry. It is also on its way to becoming the first step for many companies willing to cooperate with international companies and promote their advanced product and technology overseas. There will be enough for the participants of course, and the safe and comfortable life of the future with u-IT convergence is ready to be explored at RFID/USN Korea 2010.
