The topic of Green Growth has not had a large part in past G20 discussions. However, recently the Seoul G20 Summit has decided to look at the issues surrounding green growth more closely.

President Felipe Calderon said, "We attempt to change our lifestyle in order to stave off climate change." He strongly stated that if we don't take any action for the next 200 years, then 20% of the GDP of the whole world will be lost by the environmental influence.
"Due to the increase of carbon dioxide emissions, the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increased more than 50% during the past 50 years and the global temperatures have also risen. As a result, mankind as well as the companies is being threatened," He stated.
Moreover, President Felipe Calderon lamented the fact that the world has showed a passive attitude toward climate change even though the world has been aware of the crisis.
"We can achieve sustainable growth while also reducing carbon emissions. For instance, if we change cooling and heating systems efficiently, then the companies can reduce associated costs," He explained.
"Some renewable energy went down in cost and they have increased their value economically. Solar energy is still a high cost measure, but if the cost goes down through the development of technology, the benefits are huge," He stressed while speaking about the consumption of renewable energy.
President Felipe Calderson urged by saying, "Achieving a low-carbon society is for the next generation. Our generation needs to prepare for climate change through a new global action."
