The Korea National Park Service (KNPS), which had developed routes of a marine ecology trip, conducts pilot operation of a cruise ship in Hallyeohaesang National Park from June 11 to 12. As a follow-up measure of the MOU with a cruise company, Panstar Group in March, 2011, the pilot operation will be carried out by the Panstar Dream (21,350t), departing from the port of Busan, passing through Jisimdo in Hallyeohaesang National Park, Haegeumgang, and Maemuldo and returning to the port of Busan.
Commemorating the first cruise to a national park, KNPS will invite 80 children from Jeollanam-do and Gyeongsangnam-do and provide them with diverse events including explanation on history, culture and landscape of Hallyeohaesang National Park, fireworks and a concert. The general public who want to join the pilot operation can make a reservation via the websites -- www.ecotour.knps.or.kr or www.panstarline.com. An official from KNPS said the cruise to national parks can become a new type of a visiting program by which people can enjoy marine eco tours and KNPS will develop various visiting routes and program for marine eco tours.
