KES, October 12, 2011— Delta Group, a supply company which distribute consumer products , is attending KES 2011 eager to discover innovative products that will 'WOW' the Russian market. The company was set up 12 years ago and has since grown to supply audios, home appliances, and various electronics devices. "The latest home appliances we are distributing now are plates, and devices that can cut down power expenditure. We are not looking for certain products right now but we are very interested in the different solutions that are on display here," Technical Director of Delta Group, Mikhail Petrov said.

High Demand of "NEW" Consumer Electronics in Russian Market

Petrov continued, "As you know, currently most of our electronics are imported from China. This is because Chinese products are very cheap. However now the Russian market is starting to get tired of Chinese products and so we are looking for other alternatives in Korea. We are especially interested in the Korean high-technology products. The reason is that the quality is excellent and the price is reasonable."

Delta Group also showed high interest in solar energy products at the KES 2011 show floor. " We are also looking for products that are being developed, in addition to existing products, as our consumers would love to try out new and innovative products compared to what they are using now," Petrov said.

Currently Delta Group sells about $30 million worth of products a month, and they intend to expand their budget to purchase high-end products. This makes their visit to Korea very significant. "KES helps us to explore the Korean market and analyze the products," Petrov said.

How to Succeed in the Russian Market

"As we said before, Korean products have very high quality, especially the high technology products. One problem we face is that Chinese companies are very good at manufacturing goods but they cannot develop products in accordance to our standards. Korean companies seem really good at this - For example, Chinese software is less reliable than Korean software. One thing we are looking forward to is reasonable prices. So if Korean companies maximize their development and manufacturing capacity, retain their excellent quality, and set their prices accordingly, they would be able to succeed very well in the Russian market," he concluded.

The Director of the Service Department at Delta Group, Almazov Pavel added a few words as well about his expectation and impression of Korea, "There is one problem though. We would love to work with Korean firms, but there are some technical problems. Chinese companies are very good at business - they are friendly and tell us everything we need to know. However Korean companies seem to be a bit lacking in this business side. Sometimes business partners from small and medium sized companies we met couldn't speak English, and so the language barrier makes the business even harder. I want to say that Korean companies must keep an open mind about Russian businesses. In addition, Korean SME's do not come to various trade shows in Russia. So even though we really want to meet innovative products from Korean companies, we can't because there is simply not enough information. Big Korean firms like Samsung and LG of course attend to these shows, but the smaller companies are not often seen. However for us, it is much better for a lot of mid level businesses to attend. It would be great to see more Korean companies at Russian trade shows, and it would also be good to see a lot of Russian companies being invited to trade shows like this, and we can build business from there."

Delta Group showed an enthusiasm to make business with Korea by sharing  his country's strength, "Right now, Russia has a lot of potential. We sent a person to space! We are able to develop technologies very well. We might have some problems here and there just like any other countries abroad, but Russia is a big country. If you truly want to succeed in the Russian market, I suggest that the best way to do it is hiring a marketing manager for Russia and work with that person," Pavel said.
